Castlevania Belmont's Curse PC System Requirements

Konami's verified PC specs: Windows 11, i5-8400, 16GB RAM and a GTX 1650 minimum, with an i5-10400 and RTX 3060 recommended. 10GB storage, 64-bit only.

Castlevania Belmont's Curse PC Requirements: Minimum and Recommended Specs

Steam puts the floor at Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-8400, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1650 on DirectX 11; the recommended tier raises the processor to an i5-10400 and the card to an RTX 3060. Both tiers ask for 10 GB of storage and both are 64-bit only, and these are the only PC specifications Konami has published anywhere. As of October 5, 2026 the game is still in pre-order, the free demo is live, and no benchmark data has come from Konami to confirm or soften that floor.

  • 16 GB of RAM is the real wall. It is the minimum on both tiers, and there is no published configuration that asks for less.
  • The GPU floor is an entry-level card, not a console equivalent — an RTX 3060 is only named in the recommended tier.
  • Windows 11, not Windows 10, and a 64-bit processor and operating system are both required.
  • 10 GB free is the Steam figure, though Konami's own site lists 8 GB for the Standard edition.
  • No macOS, no Linux. Steam's platform flags read Windows true, the other two false.

Field Minimum Recommended
Processor and OS Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
Operating system Windows 11 Windows 11
Processor Intel Core i5 8400 Intel Core i5 10400
Memory 16 GB RAM 16 GB RAM
Graphics nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 nVidia GeForce RTX 3060
DirectX Version 11 Version 11
Storage 10 GB available space 10 GB available space

Steam's raw field strings are unformatted — they read "OS: Windows11" and "Graphics: nVidia Geforce GTX1650" with no spaces, and the 64-bit requirement appears as the first bullet above the OS line rather than as its own row. Both are listed under minimum and recommended.

Official source: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on Steam — the System Requirements block, read October 5, 2026: "Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system", "OS: Windows11", "Processor: Intel Core i5 8400", "Memory: 16 GB RAM", "Graphics: nVidia Geforce GTX1650", "DirectX: Version 11", "Storage: 10 GB available space". Recommended swaps the processor for "Intel Core i5 10400" and the card for "nVidia Geforce RTX3060", and changes nothing else.

Only the processor and the graphics card differ between the two tiers. Memory, DirectX, storage and operating system are identical, which is unusual — most publishers raise RAM or disk in the recommended column.

No AMD alternative is listed

Konami named NVIDIA parts in both tiers and nothing else. An AMD Radeon card is not covered by any published specification, even though nothing on the store page restricts the platform to NVIDIA hardware. Treat AMD as untested rather than as unsupported.

What the list does not tell you

The block is a short one, and the gaps matter more than the entries.

Question Published answer
Target frame rate None in the Steam block. Konami's product page states the platform-wide figure as "Frame Rate 60 fps (Nintendo Switch: 30 fps)", with no resolution attached
Resolution or preset options Not listed
Low-spec or reduced mode Not mentioned anywhere
Ultrawide support Not promised; players are separately asking for 21:9 and 32:9 in the discussions
Steam Deck or Proton No statement from Konami
Laptop hardware No separate low-power list

No benchmark capture, frame-rate test or hardware comparison has come from Konami, and because the game has not launched there are no user reviews on the store page to draw a settled conclusion from either.

A published minimum is a tested floor, not a measurement

Requirement lists record the weakest machine a developer checked. It does not mean a rig below the recommended tier will run poorly, and it does not mean the game needs everything listed. With no published benchmark data, the free demo is the only direct test of your own machine — see the demo guide for what it covers.

The 16 GB minimum is what players are arguing about

The objection is not invented by guide sites. It comes from a Steam discussion thread titled "The System Reqs Are A Joke Right?", opened on September 11, which ran through fifteen posts until September 21.

The opening post compares the floor to DOOM (2016) and to the newer Shinobi release, arguing that a machine comfortable with those should handle a 2D game and that this minimum is higher than both. Replies split cleanly:

  • One poster calls the requirement "pretty steep for a 2D platformer" and reasons that because the game runs on Nintendo Switch, ordinary hardware should manage it.
  • Another guesses Konami never tested older machines and simply published the weakest rig they tried, adding that they would refund it if it ran badly.
  • Others push back by quoting the i5-8400, 16 GB and GTX 1650 line back at the original poster and pointing at the game's layered backgrounds and water effects as demanding scenes.

Konami has not replied in that thread and has not changed the specification. Two things are worth separating. The minimum is a floor, not a verdict on your hardware — nobody has posted a benchmark showing the GTX 1650 struggles. And because the recommended tier holds at 16 GB, Konami has published no configuration asking for less, so an 8 GB machine has no spec to aim at.

Storage: Steam says 10 GB, Konami says 8 GB for Standard

The two official sources disagree, and the gap only matters on a tight drive.

Source Standard edition Midnight edition
Steam requirements block 10 GB available space 10 GB available space
Konami product page 8 GB (Nintendo Switch: 4 GB) 10 GB (Nintendo Switch: 6 GB)

Neither number should cause a problem — plan for 10 GB and both editions fit with room to spare. The edition split matters if your drive is tight, because Midnight also pulls in the separate Digital Sound & Art Gallery application. The Midnight Edition versus Standard breakdown covers what that extra content costs you.

The demo lists almost nothing

Steam's separate store page for the free demo carries a single line under both minimum and recommended: "Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system". There is no processor, memory, graphics, DirectX or storage field for it at all. So the full game's requirements block is the only published PC hardware list in the store, and the build you can download today has no specification of its own.

That cuts both ways. If the demo runs, you have tested the game directly. If it does not, there is no lower tier to fall back to — because the full game's own list has no lower tier either.

FAQ

Can my 8 GB PC run it?

Not according to the published spec — 16 GB is the minimum on both tiers, and Konami has listed no 8 GB configuration. Test the free demo before pre-ordering.

Do I need an RTX card?

No. The minimum names a GeForce GTX 1650; the RTX 3060 is only in the recommended tier.

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

No. Steam's platform flags read Windows true, macOS false and Linux false, and Konami has announced no other PC build beyond the Xbox on PC Microsoft Store version.

Does the demo need the same hardware as the full game?

The demo page lists only the 64-bit line, so there is no separate demo specification. Use the full game's list as your reference and the demo itself as your test.

Will it run on Steam Deck or through Proton?

Nothing has been published. Console minimum specifications are not a reliable guide for handheld hardware, so the Steam Deck settings guide sets out what is known without guessing.

Can I upgrade instead?

Yes. If everything else already clears the line, moving from 8 GB to 16 GB of RAM is the cheapest way to reach the published minimum. If the demo already runs, the FPS and settings guide covers tuning what you have.
