Every edition carries the same Alucard Style Costume. Physical copies need an extra download; the Midnight Edition adds a SteelBook and Terada tarot card.
Castlevania Belmont's Curse Pre-Order Bonus: Night One Alucard Costume
The Castlevania: Belmont's Curse pre-order bonus is one item: the Alucard Style Costume for Rose Belmont. Every edition gets it, no edition gets more for it, and a physical copy still needs the costume downloaded from the online store after launch. Konami labels the reward "Early Purchase Bonus / Pre-order Bonus (Night One)", the source of most of the confusion in search results.

What you actually get for pre-ordering
One costume, for Rose, with the name Konami uses on its product page and store listings. Checked 5 October 2026; launch is 15 October 2026.
| Question | Answer as published by Konami |
|---|---|
| What is the bonus | Alucard Style Costume for Rose Belmont |
| Which editions qualify | All of them, Standard and Midnight, digital and physical |
| How a physical owner gets it | "The physical version requires an additional download from the online store" |
| Does it unlock anything early | No. It is a costume item, not a feature |
Official source: Konami product page — "Early Purchase Bonus / Pre-order Bonus (Night One) Alucard Style Costume *The physical version requires an additional download from the online store."
That asterisk is the most useful sentence Konami has published about pre-orders, and it sits under a footnote marker on a page full of soundtrack titles.
Every edition gets the same costume, so it is not an edition upgrade
This is the part that gets sold wrong. Konami's June announcement puts the costume in the bonus row of all three columns of its comparison table, cheapest one included.
| Edition | Price in the US | Alucard Style Costume |
|---|---|---|
| Standard, digital | $29.99 | Yes, any pre-order or early purchase |
| Midnight, digital | $39.99 | Yes, any pre-order or early purchase |
| Midnight, physical | $39.99 | Yes, download required |
The reward says nothing about which tier you bought, and paying ten dollars more for Midnight does not upgrade it. What that money buys is answered in Midnight Edition vs Standard: the Sound & Art Gallery, the Trevor and Sypha costumes, and the Family's Grace relic.
Official source: Konami press release, 8 June 2026 — "Pre-ordering or early purchase of any of the game edition will also award an extra Alucard-style costume for Rose Belmont."
The physical download is the part people get wrong
Konami sells Midnight on disc in North America, and the costume is not on it: it lives on the online store, which is why the footnote sits on the bonus rather than the line-up.
| Step | What to do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Buy physical on your platform | The costume is redeemed per platform |
| 2 | Keep the receipt and any box code | Retailers ask for one at the counter |
| 3 | Install the base game on launch day | The download needs the game present |
| 4 | Download the costume from that store | The step the footnote warns about |
| 5 | Do not delete or re-register the account | Downloaded items live on the account |
Konami published the requirement, not the procedure. As of 5 October 2026 there are no redemption instructions on the product page, the press release or the store listings, and no downloadable box code is mentioned anywhere official. Expect to navigate your own store's download section yourself, and keep the packaging until the costume is in your inventory.
Not hypothetical caution. The Midnight bundle already splits into separate downloads: on Nintendo, the Midnight Switch product bundles the game, a Sound & Art Gallery listing and a "Bonus Contents Pack" holding the Trevor costume, the Sypha costume and the relic. A store that splits one edition in three will not hand you a fourth on disc.
Which store pages actually list the bonus
Every storefront we checked carries the same wording; all four were read on 5 October 2026. If your region shows something different, your store page wins over any article.
| Source | Wording as published |
|---|---|
| Konami product page | "Early Purchase Bonus / Pre-order Bonus (Night One)" |
| Steam store page | "Pre-order Bonus" block naming the costume |
| PlayStation Store | "[Pre-order Bonus] Alucard Style Costume" |
| Nintendo US store | Publisher notification, same wording |
We did not check the Xbox or Microsoft Store listing. If that is your platform, read its page before ordering.
The SteelBook and Terada tarot card are separate, and EMEA-only
Collectors reading about the pre-order will also hit a SteelBook and a tarot card drawn by Katsuya Terada. Both come with physical Midnight orders, and Konami limits them to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
| Item | Who gets it | Status |
|---|---|---|
| SteelBook case | Physical Midnight pre-order or early purchase | Select EMEA retailers, "to be announced" |
| Premium tarot card of Rose, Terada art | Physical Midnight order | Select EMEA retailers |
Konami's wording is worth reading twice: "Please check with your local retailers for availability and stock of the SteelBook or tarot card." Retailers were still unnamed as of 5 October 2026, and neither item is offered in North America. Terada is the manga artist and illustrator whose artwork appeared in the June announcement trailer; the tarot card is a physical collectible, not an in-game Arcana card. The deck you fight with is a different system, in the Arcana guide.
An Alucard costume does not put Alucard in the game
Alucard is a long-running character from earlier Castlevania entries, and a costume named after him invites a story conclusion no official source supports. Konami's character page lists Rose, Trevor, Sypha, Count Dracula, six bosses, then an "And more…" line. Alucard appears nowhere on it. The costume changes Rose's appearance; nothing published suggests it adds a character, a fight, a scene or a stat.
A Style Costume for Rose, named after a character from earlier series games. Konami has not stated whether it affects anything beyond her appearance. The published cast is on the characters and voice cast page.
What Konami has not published yet
| Open question | Evidence as of 5 October 2026 |
|---|---|
| When the early-purchase window closes | "Early purchase" used without a cutoff date |
| How a physical owner claims the costume | Requirement published, procedure not |
| Whether the costume affects gameplay | No effect data published |
| Which EMEA retailers stock the SteelBook or card | "To be announced" since 8 June 2026 |
| Whether the Xbox listing carries the same bonus | Not verified by us |
Should you pre-order for the costume?
The costume is a thin reason on its own: same on every tier, download either way, no effect on the first hour. Pre-order when you want the disc, or when a bundle undercuts the pieces.
| You are | Pre-order because |
|---|---|
| On Switch and want the disc | Midnight is the only disc edition, and Switch is locked at 30fps |
| Buying Dead Cells or V Rising anyway | Steam bundles were running on 5 October 2026 and shrink the gap |
| Waiting on a review verdict | The demo is free and carries over, so you can decide later |
| Only here for the costume | Any edition gets it, including the cheapest |
